RTS explains the Swiss naturalization test
An RTS report introduced the naturalisation process and its well-known knowledge test. The archive remains relevant because the test format still varies by canton and sometimes by commune.

What does the test assess?
The authority checks whether an applicant is familiar with life in Switzerland. Topics commonly include institutions, democracy, history, geography, society and facts specific to the canton or commune.
A local format
There is no single questionnaire used across the country. Some authorities use a written test, others an interview, and some combine both. The first preparation step is therefore to obtain the official programme for your place of residence.
